DENMARK – With sales of DKK 1.2 billion (EUR 170 million) in 2016 Danish RTA furniture manufacturer Tvilum reported its best results in six years.

Andrew Long - CEO Tvilum

CEO Andrew Long stated, “We reached our goals for 2016 with a positive EBIT of DKK 4 million (EUR 540.000). This is satisfactory and reinforces that our profitability initiatives, the establishment of production facilities in Poland and continued global expansion of sales offices are working. We recognize, however, that the EBITDA of DKK 22 million (EUR 2.9 million) is lower than budgeted, but the main reason for this was Brexit – which we could naturally not influence. Beside this, all indicators are green, and I am very impressed by the efforts of my employees. Looking at where we came from, the performance of our entire organization deserves respect”. And added, “We continue the journey towards realizing our vision of becoming the world’s leading manufacturer of ready to assemble furniture.”

The essence Tvilum´s strategy towards the future is moving from being a supplier and manufacturer to being a valued partner that strengthens the strategic partnership with key clients. In 2016 Tvilum opened an office in Japan, as well as an office and a distribution center in Mexico. “We do this to come closer to customers and the strategic growth markets. In 2017, the partnership program will be expanded to also include our main suppliers,” concluded Andrew Long.
