BRAZIL – According to information from the publication Wood Based Panels, Todeschini SA Indústria e Comércio, one of Brazil’s largest furniture makers.
Is evaluating a project to set up a new medium density particleboard (MDP) panel plant in Rio Grande do Sul. The publication quotes industry sources. Todeschini is reported to have already recruited Mario Colombelli, the former industrial director of Brazil’s leading wood panel producer Duratex to advise on its latest project.
Today, Todeschini is one of the largest manufacturers of tailored furniture in Latin America. In 2004 the Company established a 54,000m2 furniture plant in the country’s southernmost state aiming to double its yearly capacity. Todeschini’s products, which include furniture and complements for customized settings, planned for homes, business settings, and hotels, reach the market through over 260 exclusive stores around Brazil and abroad.
With its headquarters in Bento Gonçalves, in Rio Grande do Sul, and with over 70 years of experience, the company is recognized for being a pioneer and for its constant renewal ability, incorporated into the new collections presented every year. Todeschini runs more than 260 exclusive stores across Brazil and in neighboring countries. A decade ago, the Brazilian furniture firm had around 11,000ha of its own pine and eucalypt forest plantations in Brazil’s southernmost state.
