SPAIN – The National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters of Spain, ANIEME, organized a trade mission to Colombia and Mexico from November 7 to 15.

The mission includes seven Spanish furniture companies, among them Gamamobel, a manufacturer with over 70 years in the market and prominently on the upholstery and contract segments; as well Lagrama, a modern design manufacturer that showcased its latest collections at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan 2013. The mission also includes Moblec, Monrabal Chirivella, Furniture Canella, Point and Skyline Design.

The objective of the mission is to promote business contacts with importers and prescribers to help consolidate the presence of Valencian furniture in Colombia and Mexico, both at retail and through the contract channel for the furnishing of facilities. The visit takes place after the technical staff of ANIEME detected opportunities for Spanish furniture both in Colombia and in Mexico, mainly in the medium-high and high-end segment and the contract channel.

ANIEME President Juan Carlos Muñoz, said “Spanish companies must diversify their sales to new destinations that offer exciting business opportunities in the short to medium term, such as certain markets in Latin America. Countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile, among others, enjoy increasingly healthy economies with sound economic growth in an area with huge potential for Spanish furniture”.
