FRANCE – SCM Group is proud to be a partner with its Smart&Human Factory in Gautier‘s ambitious new project.

The French company, leader in the production of customized furniture, has chosen for its new and third plant in Saint-Prouan, in the Vendée region, a highly automated line for “batch one” processing.

This is one of the most advanced engineering projects ever undertaken by SCM, a 100-meter-long line, including cells for nesting, edging and drilling, served by automatic flexstore warehouses, industrial robots and traversing systems for loading and unloading the boards.  An investment that will bring even more flexibility and efficiency to the production of custom-made furniture.

Gautier initiated its operations in 1958 in France and has operated in the United States since 1982. It has three integrated manufacturing facilities in France spread over 150,000 sq m which produce approximately 15,000 units of Gautier furniture every day.
