COLOMBIA – RTA Muebles was again the main Colombian wooden furniture exporter in the first half of 2020 (6M-2020).
The Yumbo, Valle del Cauca based manufacturer reached exports for USD 5.74 million in the period, a strong increase of 27.7 percent compared to 6M-2019 (USD 4.50 million).
The export performance of RTA Muebles strongly contrasts with total Colombian exports of wooden furniture, which in 6M-2020 fell by 29.8 percent to USD 14.08 million, compared to USD 20.07 in 6M-2019.
In 6M-2020, the United States was the main destination for Colombian exports of wooden furniture. The segment’s shipments to the US totaled USD 5.57 million, an important increase of 27.4 percent compared to 6M-2019 (USD 4.37 million).
Exports of wooden furniture to Chile, the second export market in importance, were up 14.0 percent and reached USD 2.17 million in 6M-2020 (6M-2019: USD 1.91 million).
Panama was the third foreign market in 6M-2020 with USD 1.85 million, down 66.2 percent compared to 6M-2019 (USD 5.47 million).
