COLOMBIA – RTA Muebles reached sales of COP 198.8 billion in 2021, which compares to sales of COP 124.8 billion in 2020. This represented an increase of 59.2 percent, the highest among the country’s leading furniture manufacturers.
Famoc Depanel remained the second largest manufacturer with sales of COP 120.6 billion in 2021 compared to sales of COP 117.2 billion in 2020.
Among the top nine furniture manufacturers in the country, four specialize in office and commercial furniture, three specialize in modular ready to assemble furniture (RTA) and the other two, although they manufacture furniture, their main product is something else.
Manufacturers specializing in modular furniture (RTA) had consolidated sales of COP 357.0 billion in 2021 and a growth of 42.1 percent compared to 2020 (COP 251.3 billion). While manufacturers specializing in office and commercial furniture had sales of COP 251.4 billion, a drop of 3.9 percent compared to 2020 (COP 261.5 billion).
The significant growth of modular furniture manufacturers (RTA) in 2021 is mainly due to important export levels. In 2021 these manufacturers exported USD 35.7 million (COP 142.8 billion) compared to exports of USD 22.1 million (COP 88.4 billion) in 2020.
