COLOMBIA – On February 27, Plenty, the chain of home and decoration stores of the Portuguese Prebuild Group, opened its first store in Colombia. Located in a mostly middle class, densely populated area north of the capital, it is the first of ten openings scheduled for 2014.

The Prebuild Group began operations in Colombia through the construction sector with its firm Ekko. In addition to government housing projects and W hotels of the Marriott chain, the Prebuild Group is developing in Colombia, in a dutyfree zone, an industrial park located 60 km north of Bogota ( Gachancipá ). From there seven Group companies will produce ceramic, porcelain tiles, aluminum, plastics, office furniture and industrial racks, steel structures and will also operate a wood processing plant. Prebuild’s industrial park will generate about 1500 jobs and an investment of USD 250 million.
