Peruvian awarded for its iFurniture startup at APEC O2O Summit 2018

TAIWAN – Peruvian Vaneza Caycho received the prize for an entrepreneur in Taiwan for her startup iFurniture, an online platform for personalized furniture design using digital carpentry.

790PERU1 This undertaking, which was born from a research thesis at San Marcos University in Lima, is recognized for its social impact, since it combines carpentry with knowledge of digital technologies for furniture design.

As an added value, any user can enter their platform and have the opportunity to customize the furniture that can have a conventional catalog of several design lines, explained spokespersons of the above-mentioned higher education institution.

Vaneza Caycho plans to build a community of designers and seeks to generate greater links with carpenters to become digital carpenters.

The award ceremony took place during the APEC O2O Summit 2018, summit organized jointly by the Ministry of Economy (MOEA) of Taiwan and the Government of the city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The event brought together representatives from 20 countries to discuss merger trends in regional businesses and promote integration strategies, economic development and expand digital business opportunities.

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC’s 21 members aim to create greater prosperity for the people of the region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and by accelerating regional economic integration.
