PORTUGAL -Movelpartes, manufacturer of components for the furniture industry and a subsidiary of the Sonae Industria Group, completed in the second half of 2017 a €2.8 million investment that allows the company to more than duplicate its production capacity.

The Company, located in Vilela, Paredes, 25km away from Porto, installed a new edging and drilling line equipped with state-of-the-art technology that improves quality of production and significantly reduces waste level and the energy and maintenance costs.

With the new line, Movelpartes expects to strengthen its position in the Portuguese market of components for the furniture industry and become a leader in this industry segment.

In terms of international markets, Movelpartes will target particularly Spain, France and the United Kingdom due to their geographical proximity to Portugal.

With a production area of 12,000 m2, the company has equipment capable to produce more than 120,000 components per week for all types of furniture, including components for general furniture, kitchen furniture, different types of furniture kits, storage solutions/shelves, profiles and baseboards.
