GERMANY – The jury of the FSC Furniture Awards, which was selected by the Forest Stewardship Council to honor FSC-certified companies in the indoor and outdoor furniture sector, announced the winners.

The awards ceremony was held online and the winners of the six categories (home furniture, home office furniture, office furniture, public space furniture, home outdoor furniture and public space outdoor furniture), as well as the five special awards (CSR, communication, ecology, labeling and small business) were announced by a jury made up of representatives from the FSC national offices of the eleven participating countries (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, United Kingdom). The only category that was not awarded a prize was retail furniture. A special mention was created instead.

The countries with the highest number of FSC-certified furniture manufacturers are Poland (861), the United Kingdom (746) and Italy (602). These figures go hand in hand with a growing demand for sustainably sourced products. In fact, a new study conducted by Globescan on behalf of FSC International reports that 84% of consumers expect companies to ensure that the wood and paper products they sell are not contributing to deforestation.
