COLOMBIA – For the first time in 2017, the manufacturer of office furniture Famoc Depanel ranked first among Colombia’s furniture manufacturers.
The company, with manufacturing headquarters in the municipality of Madrid, Cundinamarca, about 20 kilometers from Bogotá, recorded sales of COP 68.4 billion, a 71.3% increase compared to sales of COP 39.9 billion reached in 2016.
In the second position is RTA Muebles, with sales of COP 65.2 billion in 2017, growth of 8.6% compared to 2016. In the third position is Carvajal Espacios with sales of COP 45.2 billion, followed by Moduart and Solinoff, with sales of COP 40.1 billion and COP 38.5 billion, each.
Among the top 10 manufacturers there were five office furniture manufacturers (Famoc, Carvajal, Solinoff, Muma and Servex) whose consolidated sales reached COP 177.3 billion with a drop of 7.1% compared to 2016; and five manufacturers of modular furniture (RTA Muebles, Moduart, Dofi, Inval and Maderkit) whose consolidated sales reached COP 200.5 billion, which represented a decrease of 2.8% compared to 2016.
Industrias Dofi was the manufacturer that in the modular furniture segment presented the highest growth in sales in 2017 (26.7%).
