Exports help Nobilia grow sales 4.9% in 2019

GERMANY – During its annual press conference Nobilia, the largest European kitchen furniture manufacturer , announced that it reached sales of EUR 1.288 billion in 2019, an increase of 4.9 percent compared to 2018 sales (2018: EUR 1.228 billion). This corresponds to an increase of 60.3 million euros.

The annual output last year was over 753,000 kitchens, a new record with more than 7.53 million cupboards and over 1.7 million worktops.

871NOBILIA In Germany, Nobilia recorded growth of 0.7 percent to EUR 646.7 million in the 2019 financial year. This value exceeds the previous year’s turnover by 4.7 million euros. Around 85 percent of domestic sales are attributable to the sales channels of furniture stores (43%) and kitchen specialists (42%). In contrast, there was no growth in the Discount sales channel (9%).

In 2019, the export markets remained an essential success factor for Nobilia with organic sales growth of 9.5 percent. Export sales rose by 55.6 million euros to 641.1 million euros compared to the previous year. The export quota reached a new record high of 49.8 percent in 2019, significantly exceeding the industry average of 41.9 percent. With this development, Nobilia has further expanded its leading market position in the export business.

Nobilia achieved particular growth rates especially in the countries of the European export markets such as France or Spain. But markets further away in countries such as Saudi Arabia or China also made a relevant contribution to its export growth.

As the kitchen manufacturer grew in almost all export markets in 2019, the distribution of sales by country has hardly changed. The neighboring European countries continue to be of particular importance for their export sales and the French business continues to dominate at a high level. This is followed by the markets in Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands. China is already the fifth largest external market.
