COLOMBIA – Exports of Colombian modular wooden furniture totaled USD 8,167,565 in the first nine months (9M) of 2016, down 2.9% compared with the same period 2015 (USD 8,413,422).
Moduart and RTA Design were the two main exporting companies in the 9M period with shipments of USD 3,128,311 and 3,080,106 respectively. They are followed by Inval with USD 1,426,110 and the exporter with the highest growth compared to first 9M 2015 (+15.2%).
Chile was once again the main destination of Colombian modular furniture exports, with USD 2,674,665 and 26% growth compared to 2015 (USD 2,122,888). The US market was the second in importance in the period, with USD 1,519,802 compared to USD 946,932 in same 9M period 2015, up more than 60%. Exports to the markets of Panama, Peru and Ecuador had significant drops, more than 79% in Panama and more than 50% in Peru and Ecuador.
