COLOMBIA – In 2017, Colombian exports of wooden furniture totaled USD 31.9 million, a figure that represented a growth of 16.8% when compared to the USD 27.3 million reached in 2016.
In 2017 Panama was the main destination for Colombian exports of wooden furniture, registering USD 8.7 million . The United States was the second most important external market in the period, with shipments of USD 8.4 million.
The two main markets represented 53.4% of the total wooden furniture exported in 2017.
The main export company in 2017 was RTA Muebles (formerly RTA Design) with USD 6.4 million. This manufacturer, with a production plant in Yumbo, municipality north of the city of Cali, achieved a 48.2% increase in its exports when compared with 2016.
The second largest exporting company was Muebles Jamar with exports for USD 3.8 million and Inval with shipments for USD 3.6 million and with growth rates of 35.8% and 47.8% respectively when compared to 2016.
