USA – The city of Concord, NC is preparing to offer tax incentives to Golden Home a Chinese kitchen furniture manufacturer as part of an USD 86 million investment. Concord’s city council will soon vote on the USD 803,515 grant, which would be given to the company over five years.
The manufacturer of European-style cabinets would begin building a 65,000-to-75,000-square-meter plant on the site of the former 2,000-acre Philip Morris cigarette manufacturing property.
The facility would include a North American headquarters, a training facility, and a manufacturing and distribution center.
Concord Mayor Bill Dusch said the discussions for the project have been ongoing for nearly 20 months. “Here’s another opportunity to bring in higher-level jobs, higher-paying jobs,” he said. “We’re excited about that.”
GoldenHome defines itself one of the world’s leading cabinet makers. It runs operations in China, Australia, the Middle East, and a warehouse in New Jersey.
