CHILE – Chilean furniture producer La Alpina has signed a license agreement with Välinge for the use of Threespine® click furniture technology.

866ALPINA1 Founded in 1952, La Alpina is today a producer of mainly wood-based home furniture. A central aspect of the Chilean company’s design and production philosophy is its innovative and lean-production approach.

“For us, innovation is key, and it has been a long-time vision of ours to assemble and transport furniture for our customers. However, up until now, it has been very difficult to fulfill this vision because of the complicated and time-consuming assembling technique,” says Carlos Erler, CEO, La Alpina.

By implementing Threespine, La Alpina will now not only increase the efficiency of its kitchen cabinet production but also improve its customer offering.

“In Threespine technology, we have finally found a solution that fits our philosophy and that is why we have chosen to work together with Välinge. We will now be able to lower our production- and transportation costs while simultaneously increasing the quality of our products. We have already shown the technology to some customers who have been overwhelmed and eager to start using it,” says Carlos Erler.

In addition to signing the license agreement, La Alpina has built a new factory exclusively for the production of cabinets with Threespine technology. The factory has a new, high-capacity production line from Biesse of Italy commissioned at the end of October 2019. The first range of products from La Alpina will be on the market at the end of the year.
