BRAZIL – The Brazilian Furniture Industry Association (Abimovel) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) have renewed the Brazilian Furniture Sector Project for another two-year cycle, effective December 20, 2024.

This initiative aims to increase the export of Brazilian furniture, components, and services, driving the internationalization of brands in the sector. The project currently includes 175 companies and is expanding.

In the 2023-2024 cycle, the project generated approximately USD 367 million in business, through 4,118 meetings with international buyers and participation in major global trade fairs. The participating companies saw an 8.2% improvement in their international positioning, outperforming Brazil’s national average of 3.2% and surpassing the global industry decline of 3.73%.

Abimovel’s Executive Director, Cândida Cervieri, highlighted the project’s importance in strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of Brazilian furniture: “Brazilian Furniture is crucial in promoting our sector’s global presence and innovation, helping manufacturers secure more space in international markets.”

ApexBrasil project manager, Clarissa Franco, emphasized the synergy created by the initiative, stating, “Through market intelligence and participation in major events, we are opening doors for tangible business opportunities and enhancing the reputation of Brazilian design.”

The 2025-2026 cycle will focus on strategic activities, including trade missions, participation in global fairs, and initiatives related to market intelligence, sustainability, and design. These efforts will target established markets in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, as well as emerging economies.

Cervieri concluded, “We expect the Brazilian Furniture project to continue driving export growth and solidifying Brazil’s brand abroad.”
