Brazil’s furniture sector showing signs of recovery

BRAZIL – After a difficult first half of 2017 for the furniture industry in Bento Gonçalves, the figures collected by the Commercial Intelligence department of the Bento Gonçalves Furniture Industry Association (Sindmóveis) show signs of recovery by the year’s end.

765SINDMOVEIS From January to November, for the first time in almost four years, the accumulated industrial production was positive 4.4% compared to the same period last year. In the same period, 2,847 new jobs were created by the furniture industry.

As the market is expected to heat up, approximately 200 manufacturers of corporate and residential furniture and complements are preparing new products for Movelsul Brasil, taking place from March 12 to 15, 2018, in Bento Gonçalves. Sindmóveis, the show organizer, is setting up a series of concurrent events to ensure an assertive business environment for the main furniture retailers in Brazil and the importers from 50 countries expected at the event.
