Students from Poland and Colombia winners of the International Design Award

GERMANY – This year’s International Design Award (IDA), to commemorate its tenth edition, awarded prizes in two new categories: Company Prize and Public Voting.

IDA-2015-2-201507 IDA-2015-1-201507

IDA is jointly organized by Hettich and REHAU and awarded every two years. It was created to promote talent and present trends and visions, boosted by fresh approaches, that will shape the future. The event this year had the theme: "Take furniture to the next level."

The Company Prize was won by student Katarzyna Sroka from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, Poland. Her "WALL-OFFICE" design is geared towards the personalization of wall-mounted workstations in public and private spaces. Unlike the usual categories of IDA Award, whose winners are selected by a jury of renowned designers, the Corporate Prize is selected by vote of the employees of the two companies promoting this initiative.

In the other new category, Public Voting, the winners were the team of students of the University of Los Andes in Colombia: Andrea Lamprey, Daniela Vanegas and Felipe Cortes, with their design "Click and sit. Dlight". This category was awarded by public vote through the International Design Award website.
