ARGENTINA (Notifix.) - Sadepan Latinoamericana, a leading manufacturer of melamine boards, joined the fashion week in Buenos Aires and the 35th anniversary celebration of Biferdil with the construction of a "Retro Hair Boutique", a space that recreates the spirit of 70’s fashion.

Yes Oui Si Studio, winner at the last CASA FOA 2012, was responsible for the stand’s design, which required more than 45 melamine boards and about 400 meters of edgeband.

With this raw material, the architects were able to recreate the entire 70’s hair salon, which involved the development of the stand structure and all the furniture.

This experience allowed Biferdil to implement melamine, a new trend in the Argentine market, now applied to the fashion industry. "We are proud to have been part of this project with Biferdil. Melamine not only has the advantage over hard wood in regard to price, but also easily accommodates to various architectural spaces and contributes to the new paradigms that promote environmental stewardship and ecology", said Horacio Kern, CEO of Sadepan.

Meanwhile, Karin Dolinka, architect of Sadepan Latinoamericana, explained that melamine allows much more freedom when it comes to design, color matching, adapting to every environment, and stressed that "the idea of the hair salon is another demonstration of what can be achieved with design and creative ideas without damaging the environment."
