BRAZIL – After the registration period for the 2018 Salão Design Award ended on Monday, October 2, the award organizers announced the names of the judging panel of this special edition, which marks the 30th anniversary of the competition held by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis).

The judging panel is made up of five renowned design professionals whose work features a strong sustainable appeal. They are: Brunno Jahara, Bruno Faucz, Letícia Grisa, Nicole Tomazi and Salvatore Figliuzzi.

During this first judging phase, all submitted entries in their graphic representation will be evaluated and on November 13 the finalists will be selected. The chosen few will then submit their full-size products or prototypes and on February 5th, 2018 the winner of each category will be announced. The award ceremony will take place during Movelsul Brazil 2018, which takes from March 12 – 15 in Bento Gonçalves. There all winners will be in special display. Award winners will also be showcased in the High Design Expo, from August 28 – 30, 2018 in Sao Paulo.

Sponsored by Berneck and Interprint, the Salão Design Award in its 30^th edition will offer special cash prizes. As in previous edition, each category (Student, Professional and Industry/Retail) will have first, second and third place prices, this year of BRR 12.000, BRR 8.000 and BRR 6.000, respectively. There will also be three special awards for the best 2018 products, regardless of their category, of BRR 20.000, BRR 15.000 and BRR 12.000.
