Metro Ply Produced First Board on its New Particleboard Plant

 

THAILAND - On March 4, the Metro Ply Group, a leading wooden panel manufacturer in Thailand, produced the first board on its new particleboard plant at the Surat Thani site.

1027TAILANDIAThe company now operates five Siempelkamp plants. "Very satisfied, great performance" is the Metro Ply's conclusion for the current project as well as for the entire cooperation with Siempelkamp.

Metro, one of the largest wood-based materials producers in Southeast Asia and the region's largest particleboard producer, operates a total of four particleboard plants (three of them made by Siempelkamp) and five MDF plants (two supplied by Siempelkamp).

The scope of supply for the current project includes the forming and press line including ContiRoll® in the format 8' x 40.4m, a cooling and stacking system and a panel store.

The chipboard plant was built from May 2022 . The region around Surat Thani has the highest proportion of rubberwood plantations in Thailand, so the raw material for the new plant will be fed from these deposits.
