ECUADOR - The value of Ecuadorian exports of particleboard (PB/MDP) reached USD 217.59 million in 2022.

This represented a growth of 9.8 percent compared to the previous year (USD 198.17 million).  The value of PB/MDP exports in 2022 was again a record annual level.

The notorious export performance in 2022 was led by Novopan del Ecuador, whose exports reached USD 215.07 million and accounted for 98.8 percent of total exports for the year.

The main foreign market for Ecuadorian particleboard was again Colombia. In 2022, Ecuadorian PB/MDP worth USD 129.50 million was shipped to the neighboring country, representing an improvement of 20.8 percent compared to the previous year (USD 107.22 million).

Peru was the second most important foreign market for Ecuadorian PB/MDP in 2022. With purchases worth USD 69.25 million and a slight increase of 2.2 percent compared to 2021 (USD 67.72 million). Peru together with Colombia accounted for 91.3 percent of the value of Ecuadorian exports of particleboard in the year.

While Colombia has two particleboard manufacturers, Peru has no domestic production.
