Good start to the year for Arauco

CHILE - Arauco, one of the world's largest wood panel manufacturers, reported sales revenue of USD 1,346.7 million during the first quarter of 2021 (1Q-2021).

936ARAUCOA solid increase of 19.5% compared to the USD 1,127.2 million obtained during the first quarter of 2020.

Adjusted EBITDA reached USD 384.7 million, 1.0% or USD 3.9 million increase compared to USD 380.8 million earned during the fourth quarter of 2020, and

97.7% or USD 190.2 million increase compared to the same period of 2020.

Arauco’s net income was USD 102.4 million, equivalent to a USD 27.5 million increase when compared to the USD 74.9 million obtained during the fourth quarter of 2020, and a USD 132.1 million increase compared to the first quarter of 2020.

On May 13, 2021, Forestal Arauco SA, a subsidiary of the Company, signed a framework contract, through which it agreed to sell to a third party, 461 forest properties comprising a total of 80,489 hectares, of which 61,742 are productive. hectares, for a total price of USD 385.5 million, plus the corresponding Value Added Tax. At the closing of the transaction, the price corresponding to 431 properties will be paid, while the price of the remaining 30 properties will be paid subject to the satisfaction, for each one of said properties, of certain specific conditions within the months after the closing; all of the above in accordance with the procedure established in the Framework Contract.
