Greenply produces first board on its new MDF plant

INDIA - On April 1, Greenply Industries Ltd. produced the first board on its new MDF plant in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India.

782GREENPLY1The new line is the second MDF project that the Indian wood-based panel producer and the German plant manufacturer, Dieffenbacher, have completed together. The first plant was commissioned in 2009.

On its new line, Greenply produces 1,400 m³ of high-quality MDF per day. As raw material, mainly fast-growing woods such as eucalyptus will be used.

At 56 meters long, the Dieffenbacher CPS is the longest continuous press in Asia. Other plant components ordered from Dieffenbacher in 2015 were a fiber dryer, a gluing system, forming station and finishing line with triple diagonal saw, two storage systems, and a sanding line with cut-to-size saw among others.

Greenply Industries Limited is a leading manufacturer of plywood and MDF in India with 26% and 30% market share respectively.
