PERU - Peruvian imports of particleboard/MDP in 1Q-2017 totaled USD 16.6 million, a stable performance when compared to 1Q-2016 (USD 16.8 million). 

Ecuador was the main supplying country of particleboard to Peru in the 1Q-2017 with shipments of USD 6.75 million compared to USD 6.91 million in the same period 2016 (- 2.3%). Imports from Chile, the second supplying country to Ecuador, were down 14% from USD 6.95 million in the 1Q-2016 to USD 5.98 million in the 1Q-2017. Spain was the third supplying country to Ecuador with USD 2.15 million in the 1Q-2017 compared to USD 2.25 million in the same period 2016.

Brazil was the only one of the main supplying countries of Particleboard to Ecuador that increased the value shipped in the 1Q-2017 with USD 1.68 million, more than 3 times compared to the 1Q-2016 (USD 510,430). Novopan del Ecuador was the main supplying manufacturer to the Peruvian market in the 1Q-2017 followed by Chilean manufacturers Arauco and Masisa.
