CHILE - Arauco’s third quarter results were modest as revenues reached USD 1,187.5 million during the third quarter of 2016, a 7.3% decrease compared to the USD 1,281.4 million obtained in the third quarter of 2015.  EBITDA reached USD 256.1 million, a decrease of 21.1% compared to the USD 324.6 million obtained during the third quarter of 2016.

Net income reached USD 31.4 million, a decrease of 63.9% compared to the USD 87 million obtained in the third quarter of 2016.

Arauco´s wood products segment showed mixed results during the third quarter. Revenues of this segment reached USD 638.1 million and prices improved in some regions, especially in Chilean and Brazilian markets. However, this price improvement was in detriment of sales volume, with both markets declining by 10.8% and 7.2% in sales volume, respectively. The opposite effect occurred in Argentina and other markets, with prices slightly dipping in favor of increased sales volume.
