COLOMBIA - On December 11, the gubermantal regulator - the Financial Superintendence of Colombia- informed Tablemac of the approval of the Tender Offer in favor of Duratex Europe NV whose goal is to acquire an additional 15% of Tablemac shares. 

With this acquisition Duratex will have completed a 52% participation of the Colombian board manufacturer. The operation, to be completed by January 20, 2014 is estimated at approximately COP 54.640.000.000 (aprox. USD 28.3 million ) at a price per share of COP 8,60.

Duratex of Brazil, South America’s leading panelboard manufacturer,  entered the Colombian market with an initial acquisition in May 2012 of 25 % equity ownership of Tablemac SA. With this strategic alliance, Colombia’s Tablemac has strengthened its presence in the region and made significant investments to expand its production capacity and include the manufacture of MDF boards.
