Mexico’s Proteak Presents USD 140 million Investment Project, Including MDF Plant

MEXICO (Notifix).– In a meeting with the Governor of the state of Tabasco, Proteak formally presented its investment project consisting of the acquisition of about 8000ha of eucalyptus plantations in the State and the installation of an MDF plant in the municipality of Huimanguillo to be commissioned to Dieffenbacher. The project envisages an investment of 140 million dollars.

 

Last may Governor Arturo Nunez Jimenez and members of his cabinet met with Luis Tejado and Gaston Mauvezin, director and CEO of Proteak, who described the endeavor and noted that Tabasco has all the characteristics of soil and climate for a project of this nature.


Gaston Mauvezin considered that by the first quarter of 2015 the MDF plant will be completed, and officially invited governor Arturo Nunez Jimenez to inaugurate it.


With plantations in Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia Proteak is the third largest global company in teak plantations. It exports its products to over 15 countries in America, Europe and Asia. Proteak develops all its plantations in strict compliance with the guidelines of FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council). This will be the first MDF plant for the company and with a projected installed capacity of 155.000m3/year by far the largest in Mexico.
