Egger founds forestry company

GERMANY (Notifix).- Supplying the Egger plants with wood is becoming more and more challenging. Increased demand from classic wood consumers and rising competition due to the thermal use of wood means new methods of procuring the raw material need to be explored. This is why the Tyrolean wood-based material manufacturer is now taking another consistent step in backwards integration: Egger Forst GmbH commenced operation effective 1st May 2012. Its task is to expand contract felling (purchasing standing timber) in Germany, to conduct the mechanised harvesting of wood and to offer optimised transportation and logistics solutions for delivery to the customer. ?Our primary objective is to enhance the supply guarantee for our three wood processing Egger plants in Germany, as well as supplying additional log wood volumes to the nearby plants in France and Austria,? explained Bertram Cramer, Egger executive.
