AUSTRIA (Notifix).- The two wood-based materials manufacturers Unilin and Egger have entered into a strategic partnership to promote the click technology for furniture components and thereby combine their intellectual property rights and marketing resources. With the use of this technology furniture components can be assembled without any tools and fittings. The click profiles have been introduced by Unilin under the brand name Didit® and will be licensed out to other furniture manufacturers that want to enjoy the installation, quality and design advantages the technology has to offer. Unilin will be the exclusive licensor of the intellectual property portfolio of both companies. The Austrian family-based company Egger is planning to produce the furniture components with click technology for supplying the furniture industry in the plants in Bünde, Germany and St. Johann in Tirol, Austria.
