Masisa expands its production of melamine boards in Ponta Grossa, Brazil

BRAZIL (Notifix).- Masisa's Brazilean subsidiary signed on February 6 a protocol with the Paraná State Government regarding the investment of BR $ 55.5 million (aprox. USD 32.4 million) in the company's Ponta Grossa operation and in the context of a tax benefit promoted by the State. The investment, to generate 35 new jobs, involves expanding the Ponta Grossa site in 22,000 square meters, the installation of a new melamine laminating line and a paper impregnation line. The installation of a new thermal plant and a new wood yard, in processes since late 2011, are part of the investment project. Also, Masisa foresees for the State of Rio Grande do Sul in 2012 an additional investment of over $18 million Reais (aprox. USD 10.5 million) for industrial projects and forest development operations. Masisa completed 17 years in Brazil and currently has a board production capacity of 1,050,000 meters³ per year with sites in Ponta Grossa (PR) and Montenegro (RS).
