USA (Notifix).- On the December 30th, Uniboard® USA, a subsidiary of Pfleiderer AG, announced the signing of an agreement to sell its MDF and Particleboard facilities located in Moncure, North Carolina/USA, to a subsidiary of the Chilean manufacturer Paneles Arauco S.A. for a consideration (including working capital) of US$ 62 million (€ 47,5 million). Closing of the deal is expected in the first quarter 2012 subject to certain terms and conditions. The sale of the Moncure site is an important part in the planned overall sales process of Pfleiderer's North American operations. Accordibng to Pfleiderer the transaction should facilitate the sale of Uniboard's Canadian sites after a sales analysis had shown that it would be difficult to sell Uniboard with both the Canadian facilities and the Moncure site. The Moncure Facility has an MDF line with capacity to produce 330,000 cubic meters annually, a particleboard line with capacity to produce 270,000 cubic meters annually, and two melamine lines.
