Arauco plywood mill destroyed by fire
- Details
CHILE (Notifix).- Arauco's largest plywood mill at Nueva Aldea industrial complex in the Bio Bio region was destroyed by fire at the beginning of January. The log yard at the site as well as parts of the company's radiate pine plywood plantations did also burn down. Arauco also operates a pulp mill, a sawmill and a biomass power plant in Nueva Aldea, which according to the company were not affected by the fire. The reason behind the plywood-mill fire was a forest fire that got out of control. The mill's annual production was 450,000 cubic meters.
