Masisa inaugurates the first MDP plant in Chile

CHILE (Notifix).- The General Manager of the company, Roberto Salas, in the presence of authorities, customers, employees and neighbors, inaugurated on October 26 the first MDP plant in Chile. The new factory, located in the town of Cabrero, 465 km south of Santiago, required an investment of USD 59 million. The plant, which began production in July, has an annual production capacity of 280,000 m3 of MDP, with which Masisa will serve both the domestic market, and other markets in the Andean region."The opening of the new plant is part of our goal to continue to strengthen our presence in Latin America and strengthen our leadership in the wood panel market for furniture and interior architecture," said Roberto Salas. He also noted, "this investment allows us to incorporate an innovative product in the market, streamline our industrial facilities in Chile and increase production to meet future demand in the region." The new facility meant the creation of more than 100 new jobs in the town of Cabrero. Additionally, during the project development stage 250 jobs were created.
