Masisa doubles paper impregnation capacity in Brasil

BRAZIL (PortalMoveleiro).- Masisa Brasil is completing an additional investment of 9.8 million dollars in its plant in Ponta Grossa (PR). The amount will be invested in a second paper impregnation line. The investment corresponds to the purchase of equipment that will allow Masisa to double its impregnation capacity, it includes the construction of a building with about 7,300 m2 of storage area for the coils of the base and finished papers. The company expects the installation of equipment to start in October until March 2012, allowing the possibility of increasing its production from three to six million m2 a month of impregnated paper. "With this, the raw material produced in our factory will enable us to supply both the MDF production line, in Ponta Grossa, and the MDP manufacturing line in our new factory, installed in Montenegro, Rio Grande do Sul," says Jorge Hillmann, Managing Director of Masisa Brasil. To operate the new line, Masisa has already hired 14 new employees along with the technicians already laboring in the impregnation line installed in May 2006.
