BELGIUM – Unilin Panels has received a prestigious Red Dot Award in the Product Design 2025 category for its melamine-faced Fibralux Biobased panel. The award recognizes the panel’s outstanding design and strong environmental credentials.
Launched in 2023 and further developed with a melamine finish in 2024, Fibralux Biobased is the first MDF panel to combine a 100% recovered wood core with Evertree bio-based resin made from locally grown sunflowers and rapeseed. This unique blend delivers a sustainable yet high-performance decorative solution for architects and interior designers.
Fibralux Biobased offers exceptional dimensional stability, a smooth, ready-to-use surface, and full compatibility with Unilin’s Master Oak finishes. It reduces CO₂ emissions from resin production by 80% and contains no added formaldehyde, with emissions ten times lower than the E1 standard—comparable to natural wood—making it ideal for healthier interior environments.
Unilin Panels develops and produces a wide range of innovative wood-based panels for the construction and interior design industries. Its product portfolio includes raw particleboard, MDF panels, as well as high-quality finished solutions such as HPL and melamine-faced panels.
