CANADA – Uniboard , a leading north American wooden panel manufacturer, has become the first North American decorative surfaces manufacturer to receive the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product Label for its Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL), and Particleboard.

This certification highlights Uniboard’s commitment to sustainability while maintaining high-quality performance.
The certified products contain a high percentage of renewable materials:
- 100% USDA Certified Biobased: MDF and TFL
- 95% USDA Certified Biobased: Particleboard
The USDA BioPreferred Program verifies biobased content, promoting the use of renewable alternatives to petroleum-based products. Don Raymond, VP of Sales and Marketing, called the certification a “milestone” in Uniboard’s effort to provide high-performance materials with reduced environmental impact.
The USDA BioPreferred Program, which includes over 1,800 companies worldwide, fosters sustainable markets, supports rural industries, and encourages the use of biobased products.
