GERMANY – In order to continue expanding its strong position on the international stage, EGGER is undertaking three major construction projects: The parent plant in St. Johann in Tirol
is being expanded with a new short-cycle press, a high bay racking warehouse and an office building for a total of approximately EUR 50 million.
The new short-cycle press, which will support the production of deep textures, and especially the synchronized pore that is in high demand, commenced operation in December of 2013.
Construction work on a fully-automated central high bay racking warehouse for rawboard is to begin in the spring of 2014. It is being built on an area of 4,500 m2 (48,438 square feet) and will have 3,040 storage spaces for up to 32,000m³ (1,130,000 cubic feet) of wood-based materials.
The planned office and administration building is being built on a 10,000 m2 (107,639 square feet) plot at the front of the plant premises. With the first stage of expansion, it will be home to more than 250 employees and the plant cafeteria.
