MEXICO – The month of May brought the launch of Tecnotabla’s MDF Melamine 17/18 collection. Produced from 100% sustainable raw materials from its plantations certified with the FSC seal, this collection also brings a very Mexican ingredient as it incorporates creations of two of the country’s most recognized design studios.
The MDF Melamine 17/18 collection consists of 22 designs: nine woods, seven colors and six fantasies, available in three textures: Brett, Soft and Textile. It also includes four natural veneers. The designs and textures of the 17/18 collection are aligned under four trends: Utopia, Virtual, Alchemy and Nomad, each representing different lifestyles.
In the fantasies series Tecnotabla had the collaboration designer Emiliano Godoy and the Lara HNOS studio. Omar Nacif, CEO of Tecnotabla, emphasized the importance of linking Mexican design to the industry: “We are a Mexican company, committed to Mexican talent that firmly believes in the country’s growth through integrated projects that offer products of the highest quality to the national and world markets.”
Designer Emiliano Godoy added, “It is always gratifying to collaborate with companies committed to sustainable development, that offer us materials with high quality standards and that also propose a trend. Tecnotabla allowed me to find new forms of expression for melamine, a material used in my daily work.”
Lara HNOS, on the other hand, stressed the importance of collaborating with companies that contribute to the synergy that should exist between the industry and designers. “Melamine is a material that allows us to give life to our ideas, collaborating with Tecnotabla gives us the ability to bring Mexican design to different parts of the world.”
