CHILE – Total sales for the third quarter reached USD 414.4 million, representing an increase of USD 49.7 million (+13.6%) over the same period of 2012.
The Chilean board manufacturer, with strong presence in the region, explains this growth as an effect of the increase in sales revenue and sales volumes in Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina.
In the third quarter of 2013 consolidated EBITDA reached USD 82.6 million, representing an increase of 35.2%, EBITDA growth was also due to the operations performance in Venezuela, Argentina and Mexico.
The quarter was also marked by the Company’s announcement on July 5th of the investments in Mexico for the construction of an MDF plant in Durango, with a capacity of 200 thousand cubic meters per year, plus a melamine line with 100 thousand cubic meters per year capacity and the expansion of the existing resins plant. These projects represent an investment of USD 132 million, to be funded from its own cash generation and structured divestment of certain non-strategic forest assets in southern Chile.
