USA – Roseburg Forest Products, a leading wood-based panel manufacturer in the US, has selected Siempelkamp, the German machinery producer, to supply machinery and equipment for its upcoming Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) plant.
Siempelkamp was chosen based on its industry expertise and track record, as well as its prior successful collaboration with Roseburg Forest Products in 1969.
The newly commissioned Siempelkamp plant is part of an investment planned totaling 700 million dollars. It includes two new, state-of-the-art production facilities and a component manufacturing center. Also included are technological improvements and upgrades to existing facilities in the rural counties of Douglas and Coos. The overall project marks the largest known manufacturing investment in rural Oregon and one of the largest private equity investments in state history.
Siempelkamp is involved in this project by supplying the heart of the new MDF plant. The scope of supply includes the drying system from Büttner including classifier, the forming and press line with ContiRoll in the 10′ x 42.1 m format, the cooling and stacking system as well as the intermediate and maturing storage and the associated automation of the machine technology.
