MEXICO – Sales of Proteak’s MDF and Teak businesses reached MXN490 million in 2Q-2021, doubling the 2Q-2020 result, excluding other income and plantation revaluation.
The MDF business achieved record sales in 2Q-2021 with a 133.7% increase over 2Q-2020. Reaching MXN 473.8 million. The quarter closed with a sales volume of 58,212 m3 . During the quarter Tecnotabla reached its highest level of MDF production with 63,797 m3. Export sales represented 3% of total sales.
In 2Q-2021, due to record sales, Tecnotabla’s market share was 24% in Natural MDF; melamine market share reached 33%, 3 percentage points above 1Q-2021.
In 2Q-2021, 376 hectares of Eucalyptus were planted, accumulating 691 hectares for the year, maintaining the goal of establishing 1,700 hectares by the end of 2021.
