CANADA – Ranger Board, a division of West Fraser Timber, has announced a major modernization project for its MDF production plant in Blue Ridge, Alberta.
Partnering with Sunds Fibertech, a leading supplier of panel production technologies, the project will involve significant upgrades to the plant’s equipment, including advanced press components and a state-of-the-art press surveillance system.
The upgrade is scheduled for completion by the summer of 2025.
A key element of the project is Sunds Fibertech’s expertise in multi-opening presses, which will play a crucial role in enhancing Ranger Board’s production efficiency and equipment reliability. “With this new project, Sunds Fibertech continues to expand its footprint in North America, which has been the second-largest sales region for the company this year,” says Kenth Eklund, President of Sales at Sunds Fibertech. “We look forward to supporting both existing and new customers with demanding projects across the continent.”
This initiative marks the second major rebuild of a multi-opening press for Sunds Fibertech in recent months, underscoring the company’s strategic focus on modernizing and servicing these systems.
Sunds Fibertech offers a broad range of panelboard production technologies, delivering both new machinery and high-performance upgrades tailored to clients’ operations, with significant commercial and environmental benefits.
