ECUADOR – Novopan, a leading Ecuadorian company in high-quality wooden panel manufacturing, has been awarded the Good Forest Practices for commercial forestry plantations recognition by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
This makes Novopan the first company in Ecuador to receive this honor, reflecting its commitment to sustainable forest resource management and environmental conservation.
The recognition was granted after evaluating key criteria including biodiversity conservation, sustainable land and water management, reforestation efforts, and community engagement. Ángel Llerena, Undersecretary of Forest Production, presented the award during an official visit to Novopan’s nursery and biotechnology center in Los Ángeles, Buena Fe, Los Ríos.
Cristian Durán, Novopan’s Forest Manager, highlighted that this distinction demonstrates their dedication to sustainable practices and collaboration with the public sector to address climate change and promote sustainable development, balancing economic growth with environmental conservation.
