ECUADOR – Dieffenbacher has secured an important order from Novopan del Ecuador for a 30 MW energy plant featuring reciprocating grate technology to burn waste wood.
Included in the order are a Maier Big Crusher and Rechipper to process waste wood and eucalyptus bark, with delivery scheduled by December 2024. Installation is slated to begin in January 2025, aiming for commissioning by May 2025.
“This new energy plant moves us away from burning oil and toward biomass, further accelerating our sustainability efforts,” says Ignacio Bustamante, CEO of Novopan del Ecuador. He praises Dieffenbacher for their expertise in integrating advanced technologies and custom grate designs suitable for waste wood.
The partnership between Novopan and Dieffenbacher, established since 2008, has consistently achieved milestones in enhancing production capabilities.
Novopan is confident in the performance of the Maier equipment; the Big Crusher will handle production residues, while the Rechipper will resize eucalyptus bark. Diego Coelho de Oliveira, Dieffenbacher’s Area Sales Director, acknowledges the upcoming challenges in plant delivery and integration but expresses confidence in overcoming these challenges alongside Novopan.
