MEXICO – On February 10th Masisa officially inaugurated the new veneer lamination line of its industrial complex in Durango, Mexico.
The 60 million pesos investment (aprox. USD 4.3 million) creates 60 jobs and is designed to generate added value to the MDF plant currently under construction in this complex and for which Masisa has earmarked an investment of USD 132 million.
The inaugural event was chaired by the CEO of Masisa in Mexico, Leo Shelesinger and was attended by the governor of Durango, Jorge Herrera Caldera. During the ceremony the director of Masisa highlighted how the government of Durango has “gained the confidence of entrepreneurs to expand productive investment and growth in job creation.” He said that Masisa is aware of its environmental responsibility towards Durango, with the encouragement of forest plantations and the commitment to sustainability in order to ensure the responsible use of forest resources.
Governor Herrera Caldera also noted: “We are proud that Durango has the largest panel board manufacturing plant, at the same level of our natural resources, which places the state as the largest forest reserve in Latin America”.
