MEXICO – Last November 7th Proteak reported that it has begun construction of its plant for the production of MDF with the German company, Dieffenbacher, a leader in machinery and complete plant installations worldwide.
This plant, the first of its kind in Mexico, is part of the largest integrated industrial forestry project in the country launched this year by Proteak.
Through a turnkey contract Dieffenbacher will provide the plant, which is scheduled to commence operations by the third quarter of 2015. During the first 18 months, the German firm and Proteak will operate together the MDF manufacturing facility to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and productivity. The plant, to be located in the municipality of Huimanguillo in Tabasco and expected to generate more than 500 jobs, will be partly financed by Commerzbank.
Proteak is the largest lumber industry of Mexico and Central America. With plantations in Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia, exports its products to over 15 countries in America, Europe and Asia. Proteak develops all its plantations and industrial processes in strict compliance with the guidelines of FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council).
