CHILE – On July 31, 2017, Masisa completed the sale of the biomass-based cogeneration plant of the Cabrero Industrial Complex with the Spanish company Neoelectra.
The sale includes a 15 year agreement to provide electric power services for the industrial complex and the thermal energy needed for the drying process of the wood from the Masisa industrial plant.
The sale of this unit is part of the non-strategic asset divestment plan started in 2015 and publicly announced. In this way, Neoelectra starts an internationalization phase with its first operation in Chile and Latin America, which adds to a portfolio of 24 electricity generation assets with a total installed capacity of 166 MW.
