CHILE – Masisa, a global leader in wood panels for architecture and interior design, has successfully met all the sustainability targets outlined in the Clean Production Agreement (APL) “Transition to the Circular Economy.”

This significant achievement highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability into its business practices.
The certification, granted by the Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC) and Acción Empresas, covers Masisa’s Mapal and Cabrero plants. By the end of 2024, both facilities were awarded the APL Blue Seal for achieving 100% compliance with the environmental goals set out in the agreement.
Alejandro Carrillo, Corporate General Manager of Masisa, commented, “This accomplishment proves that we can be efficient in our processes while minimizing environmental impact. Receiving this recognition underscores our commitment to integrating circular economy principles across our operations and value chain.”
The APL certification enabled Masisa to implement several key sustainability initiatives, including reducing waste generation, optimizing water usage, and minimizing environmental impacts. Notable actions included water recirculation to reduce consumption and a decrease in the amount of waste sent to landfills.
With this milestone, Masisa continues to lead the industry in sustainability, proactively addressing global environmental challenges while driving innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.
